Response to "All Summer In a Day"

You are laying on the floor of your garage, obliterated and forlorn. Depression flows through your head, as you wonder if insanity is dictating your life. Knowing there is no hope, you wait until the moment that life waits to surrender. A person should not be isolated in society, as all people should comprise equally to force friendship.

Isolation is a human’s biggest fear in life. Being alone with no one to talk to or be with is almost as daunting as the thought of death. In the short story “All Summer In a Day”, Margot is separated from everyone in the classroom. In addition, Margot’s parents shun her in a way. They didn’t communicate with her realistically, and they weren’t anywhere that they could support Margot. In general, Margot was truly isolated from the world around her.

As well as isolation being a tremendous fear, it also can cause other abnormal behaviors. Insanity is a strangely common effect that occurs to secluded people, exactly like what happened to Margot. Margot was a very lonesome girl who chose not to cooperate or interact with anyone in her environment. Over the years of Margot being neglected from people in her surroundings, unfortunately she became insane. For example, Margot wouldn’t let any water touch her head, and she even screamed that it be turned off. In other words, insanity can really take over an isolated person’s life.

Overall, isolation is a very horrific thought and situation to be in. People who ever feel isolated from the atmosphere around them should attempt to befriend others, in evasion from insanity. All people in the world should force friendship between one another, for no person in society should ever be isolated.
