Change is a very difficult occurrence that happens to everyone. It is often looked at in two ways. One perspective of how change is considered is that it is a treacherous and highly feared notion. On the other hand, optimists view change as a moment to refresh their past and start a new chapter in their life. People always encounter change, therefore everyone in society must learn to adapt to these differences.
Change is intervening a certain routine, and making it different. Most often, people look at change in the pessimistic way. As humans, we are generally fine with what we have and where we are. When we notice that change is coming along the road, depression and stress fills up our lives. Sometimes we feel that life is already satisfactory and doesn’t need change. For example, in the book A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Katie worries when Francie and Johnny come home talking about how Francie has decided to change schools. Katie already feels comfort and use for the school that Francie is in currently. This process is rarely ever easy to adapt to.
As well as all the cynical people’s points of view, there are many positive humans that believe that change will benefit their lives. Those people consider all of the advantages that come out of changes, and proceed from there. Normally, individuals who are unsatisfied with the environment surrounding them are the ones who think optimistically about change. They feel that possibly any adjustment couldn’t be inferior to there current situation. A good example of that would be in the book A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, when the Nolan family was in a more dangerous position than they would’ve preferred. Aunt Sissy brought a dangerous object into Francie and Neeley’s environment, therefore they believed it would be better in their case to change locations. Only a perfect life would not need change, yet no single human being is perfect. Therefore, every person on Earth needs change sometime in their time on Earth.
Adjustment is a concept that can be interpreted in two very common ways; the pessimistic attitude, and the optimistic approach. It is not simple to acknowledge, however, the action must be accomplished and dealt with at some point in life. Change will always interfere with everyone’s existence, so we all need to discover how to adapt and accept it.
